After 25 years of leadership, Jacques Ogg announced his retirement from the artistic director position with Lyra Baroque. In the Fall of 2023, Lyra launched an international search for our next artistic director. Four finalists were selected via special committee and each artist will design and lead a Mainstage concert with Lyra in the 2024-2025 season.

Judith Steenbrink, the Netherlands
“I am invested in keeping Baroque alive and giving it a future by making it appealing to a wide audience. Creativity, openness and enthusiasm are the keys. I find it fascinating to see that early music is alive in so many places all over the world and I am very excited to see how baroque music resonates in Saint Paul.”
Bojan Čičić, United Kingdom
“My fascination with early music started early on in my studies in Croatia where I fell in love with the work of Jordi Savall and Robert Levin. Over time I discovered the need to bring more unusual repertoire to modern audiences.”
Pedro Gandía Martín, Spain
“It has been an honor to be chosen as one of the finalists in this process. I am thrilled, tremendously excited to meet the musicians in the orchestra and make new, early baroque music for Minnesota audiences.”
Rachell Ellen Wong, United States
“I'm excited to come and perform with Lyra next year. I look forward to meeting everyone and making music together!”
