Lyra Baroque Orchestra's 3rd concert in its 2005-06 season.
The Lyra Baroque Orchestra presents Telemann's third book of "recipes for delicious music" this weekend: Friday, Feb 3, 7:30 PM at Zumbro Lutheran Church in Rochester, and Saturday, Feb 4, 8:00 PM at Sundin Hall, Hamline University in St. Paul. Tickets ($10 - $23) are available through TicketWorks (612) 343-3390 or at the door.
Artistic Director Jacques Ogg at the harpsichord will be joined for this evening of chamber music by soloists Lucinda Marvin, violin; Stanley King, oboe; Paul Jacobson and Rachel Hest, flute; and Torben Klink and Tilman Scharf, horn.
Lyra is an advocate for historically informed performances of Baroque music and is the only resident professional period instrument orchestra in the Upper Midwest. Over the past 20 years, Lyra has presented annual concert series in the Twin Cities and Rochester, bringing to the area the highest caliber Baroque experts in this country as well as in Europe and other parts of the Western hemisphere as guest soloists.
Grants from the McKnight Foundation, the James R. Thorpe Foundation and the Metropolitan Arts Council help to support Lyra's 2005-2006 season.
