The Lyra Baroque Orchestra

Marc Destrube's master class was the best of the many we've attended. -S. Ramsdell, Audience Member, Minneapolis, MN

The Lyra Baroque Orchestra is an ensemble of educator performers.

Virtually all of Lyra's outstanding instrumentalists are also dedicated music educators working with string and wind players in private studios, through various Twin Cities area K-12 music programs, and as members of several college and university faculties.

Our educational initiatives are an organic and logical outgrowth of our performer connections into many of these music education institutions in the Twin Cities, including the MacPhail Center for Music, Minnesota Youth Symphonies, Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies, the Perpich Center for the Arts and many others.

Baroque Performance Master Class Series
Each year Lyra's annual concert season includes several Master Classes in Performing Baroque Music presented in collaboration with various artistic partners such as the Schubert Club, MacPhail Center for Music, Augsburg College and the University of Minnesota. Lyra's masterclasses have included a great number of internationally acclaimed performers and educators down through the years, including such luminaries as Jean Lamon, Marilyn MacDonald, Catharina Meintz, Kenneth Slowik, Marc Destrubé, Wieland Kuijken, Steven Marvin, Stanley Ritchie, Wilbert Hazelzet, Lyra's own Jacques Ogg, and many others.
